Remote Viewing Target 9 ― August 2005

Red-Winged Hawk Nest

Sun 7-Aug-2005

BONUS POINTS

Hi folks,

I enjoyed being your beacon for our remote viewing target: The Red-Tailed Hawk Nest. Hope you had fun, too. Even though I didn’t see the hawk during the official session, I’ve seen it several times this week, so I wasn’t too disappointed. Well, maybe a little. :-)

Here’s the link to my web site: http://members.aol.com/dreamartscience/remote/view.html

Although I know this is a remote viewing experiment, it’s interesting that I’m designated as the “sender,” which is a telepathy term. Actually, it’s very apt because psi perceptions aren’t just limited to a physical location. It’s quite possible for you to pick up what I’m feeling, what I’m musing about or what I’m visualizing. Plus, what happened to me both before and after the target date. And, you did.

For instance, Sao and Joan, at least, seem to have picked up on my dream of the night:

The Island Squares 8/3-4/05

Matter of fact dream. A blond (?) man is talking to me, explaining that this is this and that is that. Organizing something. Like exchanging rooms, or residences? Squares/areas laid out, overlapping (like Picasso’s “Descending Staircase"). Some areas are shiny white, some are darker shadows, grey and caramel. I wake up, thinking of “The Island” (a recently seen movie about clones).

(Note: Allergy attack prior to sleep. Had to take a pill, resulting in groggy feeling when I woke and thus poor recall. Hard to tell exactly when I woke and how much was influenced by memory of the movie. this dream reflects what I was doing last night: writing my sender’s report, uploading my sketch and new photos and placing them on the web page. I transferred some photos of the red-tailed hawk to the Introduction page.)

This is my bonus point total:

Christoph: 2-Telepathy 1-Retrocognition

Chris: 1-Telepathy 1-Empathy 1-Retrocognition

Leon: 2-Telepathy 1-Precognition

Joan: 1-Remote view of my web site/telepathy of my dream 1-Retrocognition

Sean: 3-Telepathy

Frank: 4-Mutual dream

Kathy: 1-Telepathy 1-Precognition

Leslie: 1-Telepathy

Sao: 4-Mutual dream 1-Remote view of my web site 1-Telepathy of my dream

Gloria: 1-Telepathy 1-Precognition

If you find anything I’ve missed, I’m open to changing these totals!

Sweet dreams, Linda

Christoph - 3.0 getting close to a complete picture

Chris - 2. getting close to a complete picture.

Joan - 4. as if viewer was there.

Leon de Kock - 3. getting close to a complete picture.

Leeballz1 (aka Sean Lee) - 3.0 getting close to a complete picture.

FreeLance - 2. clearly better than chance.

Kathy Turner - 2. clearly better than chance

Leslie - 2. clearly better than chance.

Sao - 3. getting close to a complete picture - the walk, the canyon, the royalty. Others picked up on royalty too, it has been fun to see how the search for a hawk appears as a symbol.

Gloria - 2.0 clearly better than chance, to me, one of the drawings reminded me of a circular relationship between the characters on a wooden deck, tree..nest in trees?

I borrowed Laura’s format to reply, sorry I was late in adding a summary.

I’m learning so much just participating in the jury! Perhaps I’ll work on building more structure into the way I review dreams so that I don’t miss detail that is important.

Thanks to our wonderful sender and dreamers. It’s always amazing to watch the event proceed with the mutual dreaming overlaps, the telepathic connections, and the direct hits!

EXTRA! Mutual Dreams

FRANK/FREELANCE and SAO have had mutual dreams. Congratulations!

Sao

“…was standing in line to submit dreams. (for the RV) everyone had like a ‘regulation’ silver bucket they had brought their dreams in. the guy ahead of me (dark hair and a stocking cap) had a bucket full of upright silver cylinders (like big bullets) and he was telling me about his dream in detail. his dream reminded me of a ’smurf’ cartoon (the little blue men) and i realized at length that he too reminded me strongly of a smurf,, though he wasn’t blue. very pale and sort of elfin features. he looked into my bucket which only seemed to contain a little sand. the guy insisted that this sand was actually “blue cinnamon"…

Frank/Freelance

“A second image was extremely clear, a thin-faced man with a funny flat blue hat on, I think he was.. European? He was staring intently at something and was not distracted by my presence. Behind him was a full wall high wooden rack or shelves that were full of jars containing… I got the impression they were spices; various colored powders, some fine, some coarse.”

Say, Frank, do you have dark hair?

Hi, Harry!

It was great to see you in Berkeley and to know you’re doing well!

I had this dream on 8/2, and I was really puzzled by the Citroen. What in the world was that doing there? I Googled Citroen and couldn’t find any other meaing than the car (although it seems to have very devoted fans). It’s not a car we see here often in the States.

Then I remembered the remote viewing challenge and figured that might explain it, so here’s my entry (below).

Cheers, Gloria

I ATTEND A SEMINAR, LEADER DRIVES A CITRÖEN

8/2/05 8:40 a.m. (Typed from notes on 8/4 and 8/5. Sketched on 8/5 and 8/6.)

Theme A —

Late evening in a high-rise room. I and a tall man, ~40, are the only people in a seminar taught by a tall woman ~35 (although I think of both of them as my age). He’s fleshy, decent-looking, with light brown hair. She’s slim, very attractive, with long, wavy, light-brown hair. He’s bland, she’s charismatic. It’s a small room, with windows. We’re very casual: she’s on a chair, he’s on _, I’m on something solid and lower.

The seminar’s based on a book by someone else. I read it a while ago. I find that reviewing it and this woman’s way of saying things are helpful. I’m taking notes. [Not in notes:] I’m holding my legal pad (yellow?) at an odd angle, as though it’s slipping down the side of my left thigh and knee.

(Switch) We’re now standing in the hall, by an open staircase. The man interrupts the woman out of the blue. He says to her: "I’d like to go get a doughnut. Would you like one?" She hesitates, then says no. He doesn’t ask me. I want to say, "I’d love a doughnut.." But I don’t, because I know interrupting was wrong to start with.

She sends us, or I need to go, to a nearby high-rise office where I’ve been temping. The man and I go. (Switch) For a moment, we’re on the street in front of an an attractive old high-rise building. We get to my workplace a few blocks beyond that; there’s no one there. Maybe I can’t get in.

(Switch) We’re back to the original room. We finish. The woman rushes to the next session. The man tags along. A moment later, I remember something I want to ask about something she said, about women, and I rush after her. There are several sets of open stairs. I see her standing at the far side of a shadowy, open room below (like at a mall). I crouch and call out my question from the landing.

She points to her right, referring me to this seminar’s leader. I scoot up to the railing and realize this seminar has already started. There’s a semicircle of women sitting at the right side of the room. The speaker is on a dais on the left. Apparently it’s the same woman, but now she’s in her 60s, white-haired, average height, grandmotherly, even wearing a flowered dust cap / bonnet. She looks up and, because I’ve interrupted her, gives me a curt answer.

Theme A part 1

Theme A part 2

Theme B—–

Out on the street. It’s no longer a high-rise area; now the buildings are attractive, expensive, single-story offices, rough dark wood. I get in the driver’s seat (?) of a (?) small minivan. A bunch of young, dark-skinned (?) men pile in, noisily, excited and joking. The younger woman who led the seminar and the man rush past in a bright-colored (green? red?) Citröen, squeezing dangerously between us and the curb, having fun.

Sketch of a bonnet

COMMENT 8/6: I had no idea what to call the seminar leader’s cap, although it made me think of my Little Golden Book about the baby squirrels (?) that ate all the grapes off their host’s vine. I Googled "dust bonnet" just now and found it right away (also called a "mob cap"). The drawing is from http://www.headcoverings.com/CoveringsOrder7BonnetsandCaps.htm

  2. Gloria - I had a tough time with matching some of the aspects of your dream. However, I think that Linda will be able to provide more solid verifications on the connections regarding personal and physical qualities of the people that you describe in your submitted description. I had a great time with your sketch, and again, I think Linda will be the best person to confirm the various aspects of the map of the area, where she parked, the direction of the paths, and the buildings.

    Gloria Linda
    single-story offices
    high-rise office
    Maybe I can’t get in.
Reference to the building in the photograph.
Linda – was this building accessible to the general public?
legal pad (yellow?) …finding a lawyer.
Apparently it’s the same woman, but now she’s in her 60s, white-haired, average height, grandmotherly, even wearing a flowered dust cap / bonnet. I don’t know if Linda fits this description. I wish I could make a judgment call on this description, but not knowing the appearance of the sender…its hard to do. Linda????
Also – 1) Did Linda have company with her on this RV? And if so, does the description that you gave of the man match the qualities of Linda's company?
I get in the driver’s seat (?) of a (?) small minivan Linda – did you have to drive to get to this area, and if so, what type of car and what color?
bright-colored (green? Red) Green is a primary color in the general area.
Red = red hawk that the sender was waiting for.
Little Golden Book about the baby squirrels Baby squirrels – Linda makes mention of the several types of squirrels in her description.
The activities of the seminar leader, going back and forth into various rooms Linda walking back and forth in the area to get the best view of the hawk’s nest.
Graphic image sketches… The angle of the building, and reference to green. I think Linda could better interpret the actual map of the area.

  3. SENDER'S COMMENTS/Hi from Linda

    Gloria

Laura, I'll respond to your comments and questions, first.

    • (RV) The waterworks property is only accessible if you jump the fence (as some teenagers are wont to do). But to the general public, no.

    • (RV) My notepad was blue (see sketch on sender's report page) and regular, rather than legal size.

    • (RV) 60's and white haired is a factual description of me. Is 5' 3" average? For sure, I've never worn a dust bonnet. Wide-brimmed straw is more my style, or tight swimcap. "Grandmotherly"? Not literally true. Curt? Gloria, since we know one another from IASD conferences, I invite you to make that assessment. :-) I have presented at the conferences.

    • (RV) No company on my RV, nor was any of the family at home. I walked; my burgundy Honda was in the garage covered by a bright blue car cover (to keep off cat prints).

    • (B) Although I saw no squirrels this trip, I did try to take a picture of one on the same day I took the pictures of the hawk in flight, but it was too fast. I do have a grape vine in my backyard, which hasn't produced much yet, and whatever it does, the squirrels get. I know the Little Golden Books, having been both a mom and an elementary school teacher.

    • (RV) The graphics images certainly do remind me of suburbia, although all streets meet at right angles around here. Both one-story and two-story houses. They have stucco sides painted various colors; some with wooden roofs, some not. Lots of minivans.

    Hi Gloria!

    • (B) I'd like to relate an incident that happened the night before I saw your submission. I have a 32 son with dark brown hair. Fleshy? Well, both he and I could stand to lose some weight; and I worry he's not getting enough exercise. Nevertheless, I think he's more than "decent looking." I'd call him "mellow," rather than "bland." He's a temp (around here they're called "contract workers").

The two of us were coming back from dinner out and he was driving his sporty green Mazda. He'd just told me his favorite car (Mitsubishi sports type) and, since I didn't know what it looked like, I suggested we go past auto row (near my house) and find one for me to see. As we came to an intersection with a red stop light, I realized that he was driving "on automatic," preparing to take the quickest route back by making a right-hand turn. "No, go this way!" I said and, at the last moment, he swerved to get back into position to continue straight ahead. That meant he was blocking the turning lane. A minivan (not sure of the color because the sun was down, but dark rather than light) came up behind us. He moved ahead just a bit, so his Mazda was sticking out slightly into the pedestrian crosswalk. The minivan was jusssssst able to squeeze by us and make the turn.

After we crossed the street, we passed a doughnut shop, which reminded me of the time I'd brought home a box of Krispy Kreams. I told him I was surprised that the other two family members (my son has his own apartment) hadn't consumed them immediately. He agreed he didn't like them as much as other glazed doughnuts. And I agreed with his assessment because they're so light, I have to eat two to get the sensation of just one. As I thought this, I could imagine/taste the melting sensation in my mouth.

Yeah, when I'm in a sports car, I feel younger than when I'm driving my burgundy Honda.

One bonus point for precognition and one for telepathy.

Sorry if I’m late (not sure i’m even on time) and a little incoherent or hodge-podge. Was a very chaotic period and I wasn’t able to get as much headspace for it as I’d've liked, but here’s what I was able to get.

During the window I was able to concentrate for only a moment and got three images. The first was of a series of perhaps two or three very tall and elongated "chinese horses"–which had some sort of ‘topknot.’ these were made of stone and of a fairly large scale…but i couldn’t get a precise fix on the scale, certainly larger than life. They faced outward on the southern or southwestern edge of a plaza…

The second was a the ’symbol,’ shown in the graphic. not sure what to say about this as it simply looked more or less exactly like this, and didn’t explain itself, but the two yellow vertical rectangles seemed most persistent. Trying to think about what they might ‘mean’ led me to speculate i was seeing some kind of "canyon" …or the more obvious interpretation of a sort of modern architectural edifice with everything supported in the center between massive blocks and a lot of empty space above and below….

Then I saw what seemed to be a fountain in an open plaza, also very modern, which had rotating square planes. it seemed to be about 30 feet tall and be basically a tall and rectangular and black grid of square ‘panes’ many of which rotated this and that way from the flow of the water originating on top. In the pool in which it stood there were other scultpures, realistic renderings in metal of incongrous figures: a man in a business suit and hat with a newspaper, a man on a bicycle… (in the water)

Several hours after the window I had this very involved dream which I’m encapsulating as much as possible here:

"…I was in a bad situation involving what seemed to be a family or ‘commune’ of people in an apartment building. the building had about five or six floors and was narrow, one or two apartments per floor. there were many children around, 10 0r 15 in every room, everywhere I would go. I went to the roof of the building and many of the children followed me there. they seemed menacing and finally one little girl ’stabbed’ me in the back of my thigh with a tiny ankh-shaped blade. I decided I needed to leap off the building and did so…or actually hung off the edge and dropped, falling into a grey bramble. As i had looked down, I knew that the road..or path..or ‘walkway’… below was a ‘famous road’–that I ‘had heard of it’–and i was surprised it was so small and narrow, like a jogging path or something which somehow commemorated some ‘famous walk’ or something. the path was also very long, going from city to city, but I was uncertain what city i was in. the children began to drop off and pursue me and I ran and ran and ran–the ‘little road’ kept changing and going through phases…now like an alley between buildings, now like a boardwalk, now like a jogging path in a park etc. I ran until it was early morning and i had come to another city, like a semi-deserted, small, old-fashioned town…it actually seemed to be in the twenties (decade). I was thinking it was somewhere in the general area of tennessee or kentucky. Early morning and i realized everyone in the town had gathered in a big tent for some kind of ’swap-meet’ or auction, there were many old cars around, model-t type with the big thin spoked wheels etc. There were a lot of people in the tent on bleachers and the mood was almost funerary. There was a set of twins, boy and girl, sitting at a table full of cakes etc, and they looked like ‘french royalty’ and had very high powdered wigs and typical ornate period dress. I realized at the very center of the tent was like a ‘royal carriage’–an ornate automobile with big bowed glass windows, that contained the ‘royal couple.’ I got in the back seat of this automobile and it began to move forward ever so slowly, inch by inch, through the crowded people. The royal couple were in the seat in front of me and i realized they were corpses…and as the car inched forward it seemed like time was accelerating and they became more and more mummified…"

last night, I also had this little related dream snippet:

"…was standing in line to submit dreams. (for the RV) everyone had like a ‘regulation’ silver bucket they had brought their dreams in. the guy ahead of me (dark hair and a stocking cap) had a bucket full of upright silver cylinders (like big bullets) and he was telling me about his dream in detail. his dream reminded me of a ’smurf’ cartoon (the little blue men) and i realized at length that he too reminded me strongly of a smurf, though he wasn’t blue. very pale and sort of elfin features. he looked into my bucket which only seemed to contain a little sand. the guy insisted that this sand was actually "blue cinnamon"… he was finally interviewed at the head of the line and let into an intensely blue room… this scene ended before any further assessment of ‘my dream’ (the contents of my bucket)…"

  1. SENDER'S COMMENTS/Hi from Linda:

    Sao

    Sao Awake:

    • (RV/B) Yellow vertical rectangles/Seeing some kind of "canyon". There's no doubt in my mind that you remote viewed my web site! If the "official" judges don't give you any points for it, I sure will. Specifically, the area description has a three-fold layout. The left-hand photo pictures the creek "canyon":
    http://members.aol.com/dreamartscience/remote/area.html
One bonus point for remote viewing my web site.

    • (RV/B) Rotating square planes. I had to rotate the 3 photos on the bottom of the page.

I was wondering if someone was going to pick up on all the work I did on the computer after I returned home. You get the prize for that! Plus, in my dream of the night, I was doing the same thing. One bonus point for telepathy.

    Sao Asleep:

    • (B) Family, commune and apartment building are common images in mutual dreaming projects. I suspect the children are all of us, since, in user-friendly dreamspace, our dreaming selves act like (k)ids. :-) And, if you're not used to so many people in your personal dreaming space, it can seem a bit overwhelming. At first. But, when you get used to us, you can have lots of fun.

    • (B) "Finally one little girl ’stabbed’ me in the back of my thigh with a tiny ankh-shaped blade."

The day of the "sending," I reread a incident in Jim Schnabel's "Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America's Psychic Spies." Pat Price had been given the task of remote viewing numbers. He'd been able to picture them in his mind's eye, but behind them there was this strange shape swinging back and forth. It looked like an Egyptian cross.

It turned out that the sender had put the piece of paper with the numbers into his shirt pocket. And then he had gone up in a glider. With the rolls and yaws of the sailplane, the ornamental silver object he wore around his neck (underneath his shirt) had swung back and forth. It was an ankh.

I had been reading the book to do research on moving targets. For one thing, I was hoping that some of you would pick up on the creature-who-flies and have flying dreams yourselves. So far, Sao, you're the closest:

"I decided I needed to leap off the building and did so…or actually hung off the edge and dropped, falling into a grey bramble."

    One bonus point for telepathy.

    • (RV) "As i had looked down." Seeing from the hawk's point of view.

    • (RV) "...the path was also very long…now like an alley between buildings, now like a boardwalk, now like a jogging path in a park etc."

The reconstruction of the Guadalupe Corridor includes paths along the river. Some already completed in the downtown area of San José.

    • (B) "many old cars around." My husband's new toy is a 1940 Plymouth.

"everyone in the town had gathered in a big tent for some kind of ’swap-meet’ or auction...There was a set of twins, boy and girl, sitting at a table full of cakes.

My husband goes to fairs and festivals to sell his pottery, under the cover of tent awnings to keep out the sun. He and his studio partner (a woman) spend a lot of time just sitting. "A set of twins" isn't true factually, but, boy, you hit the nail on the head in terms of their business relationship. "they became more and more mummified…" LOL Joan Harthan's RV mentions tents.

    • (RV) French royalty. The royal hawk. See also Sean's RV for another reference to royalty.

    • (B) 4 bonus points for your "blue cinnamon" mutual dream with Frank/Freelance.

Very cool dream! Well, the guy with dark hair and stocking cap certainly was dressed for a pajama party. And, who knows, maybe you were talking to me. In an old lucid dream, I was in a very blue room, when someone mentioned "Columbus' cinnamon." I decided I misheard it; it should really have been Columbus' *synonym.* But I never figured out, what's a synonym for Columbus? :-) See "Hand Through Limbs," the last dream on

When I first saw you image, I thought of the letter “H”. I proceeded to review Linda’s sketches and photographs, and series of cross hatched “H”s that were made by mother nature began to appear. The yellow color of your image could reflect the sun light quality as it hits the leaves, as well as your darker red color in the distance can represent the darker shades that present itself due to visual depth perception. Also, the darker red color could also represent the color of the hawk that Linda was waiting for.

Wednesay, I blew it. Was so caught up in work, forgot. Then thursday evening I tried to relax and concentrate on receiving something. No luck, but Friday morning as I was awaking, I saw an image something like the sketch I’ve attached. I didn’t have any words come to mind.

    • (B/RV) This reminds me of a long sleeve. I considered wearing a long-sleeved shirt, but it was too hot. Instead, I wore a T-shirt and lots of mosquito repellent. One bonus point for telepathy.

Another possibility: the "S" shaped branch in the middle of the nest image (in my sketch and in the photo above it).

  3. Leslie - Location General – 2 points (If a person were drawing a US state, it most resembles CA)

Many of my own dreams are images too, static pictures. Did you have a feel for the image as a location? For a previous remote, I drew from a remote view and wrote Maryland. It looked like Maryland. The target was close by, but not exact, but it was interesting to me and will still use the method myself.

  4. Leslie - I really admire your attempt, and I am thrilled to see that you sketched what appeared in your minds eye, despite your inward feelings that you missed. Your sketch reminded me of one of the maps that Linda provided. The curved, narrow bend of the bay and overall map of Silicon Valley. I can only wish that others take your lead in providing sketches in the future. I believe that sketching is an essential part of the process. Thank you.

Leslie's sketch fitted into the map of the Bay Area

Dear RV sender (and thanks so much for doing this) here is my dream.

Choosing a Lawyer

I am up in the mountains – in the country – paddocks of beautiful green grass – staying in a small wooden hut and sharing it with others. All of us are in bed (some in double bunks). I’m in a small single bed (some others in bunk beds) and there is a wooden wardrobe beside me.

It seems that the job of lawyer has become vacant in this (Aboriginal???) community and the task is to choose one.

A man comes into the hut dressed in what I think of as an academic gown (though it is more slim-lined): a faded red/ping silk gown with faded yellow border around the neck and down the front. He has the gown on a coat hanger now and is seeing if it will fit in the cupboard – it does not. I think he must be seeing if his possessions will fit into this small hut – it must be the lawyer’s house. A wise idea, I think, as the hut is so small. The woman next to me (a teacher of lawyers) has her own candidate she wants to win the position and does not like this one – she calls him arrogant and tells him to leave.

I’m now in a deep blue van (which later turns into a Hessian seat on wheels!!) traveling on the top ridge of the mountain. I’m not convinced the brakes are as good as they should be – fine for the flat but can they hold going down a steep hill? I see a bus of tourists traveling past – they must be going to the snow (in Victoria), I think as all of them have on light soft grey green leather coats with hoods, the hoods have a white fluffy border). Odd, I think, to be dressed for the snow here – but perhaps they are not getting out of the bus until they reach their destination. I stop just off the road (near the public toilet for the community). I see Sam W. (an Aboriginal poet) below. Someone is urging him to apply for the post of lawyer – he does not think he’ll get it (nor do I, as he is not a lawyer).

Now in a common room on this community – we have gathered here (many people), all sitting around the edges, waiting to hear the elder’s choice of lawyer. The elders have indicated their preference by placing a small dark kaki bag, tied with a leather thong in the center of the room. There are about 14 bags piled in (roughly) two rows. They contain little stones or marbles. I wonder how the elders decide who wins – perhaps count large bags and small ones – but the bags are not very regular in size – though they do approximate to large and small. The elders are arriving in procession. All this darkish kaki colour.

I’m now outside on a street corner. The candidates have come back. I see this girl (a sort of nun, Buddhist, ex-nun????) in a volkswagon. She has a wonderful smile on her face (which is really all I see) and I know: she’s won! I nudge the woman next to me who is her special mentor. The woman smiles – she too has recognized her victory – though it is not officially announced and the girl has removed her smile , so she does not give the result away.

Now the girl is opposite me. She is telling me that the first time she was in Brisbane (I think she’d just arrived from Europe), she “read my eyes” while sitting at a table in a store (Myers/David Jones). I can remember her doing that but am surprised she’d remember. I wonder too what she saw (I think of it like reading my future). EOD

  2. Kathy –2 points specific location – country, paddock,

It’s hard for me to set points on the viewers responses because I think I’m supposed to be jury for location only (and there's so much more :)). When I read your dream I kept thinking about birds of prey and how hunters wear green and “hood” their birds and could imagine a hooded bird (falcon…size of a hawk) and might have a tethered leather bag to call them back. I’m not sure why I remember that about the bag, must have seen it somewhere…actually if I remember correctly a person I know from a friend who lives in the woods is a paid hunter (some state thing) and he happens to have a hawk who comes to his yard. They have a sort of friendly relationship, but the bird does not hunt for him.

  3. SENDER'S COMMENTS/Hi from Linda:

    You're welcome, Kathy!

    Kathy Turner

    • (RV) Paddocks of green grass. The waterworks property has wild grasses and is fenced.

    • (B) "Staying in a small wooden hut and sharing it with others. All of us are in bed (some in double bunks). I'm in a small single bed (some others in bunk beds)..."

This is a common image in mutual dreaming projects. After all, we're trying to "dream together," aren't we? According to our dreaming minds, a dream experiment is just one big communal pajama party. :-) And speaking of mutual...

    • (B) "They must be going to the snow." Joan Harthan also dreamt of a "snowy environment."

    • (B) "The woman next to me (a teacher of lawyers)."

I've been dreamt as a judge before (since I "judge" incoming dream reports), but a lawyer is close enough. And, I'm a teacher (retired). One bonus point for telepathy.

    • (RV) "A man comes into the hut......(She) has her own candidate she wants to win the position and does not like this one – she calls him arrogant and tells him to leave."

Well, I thought of some people in the dreaming community that might fit this description :-) But I like Juhani's idea better: that it's a dream rendition of my encounter with the (male) robin, rather than with the hawk. However, I didn't tell him to leave because I know both hawks and robins co-exist, in different levels of the glade. I did think he was a bit sassy.

    • (B) "I'm now in a deep blue van (which later turns into a Hessian seat on wheels!!)" traveling on the top ridge of the mountain. I'm not convinced the brakes are as good as they should be – fine for the flat but can they hold going down a steep hill?"

What's a "Hessian seat"? My husband's business vehicle is a truck colored deep blue. Yesterday he told me that its brakes are beginning to make noise (a warning to change them). One bonus point for precognition.

    • (RV) Light soft grey green. The colors in the glade.

    • (RV) White fluffy border/But perhaps they are not getting out of the bus until they reach their destination. The puffy trail of the airliner (carrying tourists?).

    • (B) The gathering in the common room. A rather neat dream description of the judging process.

    • (RV) Brisbane. A city just south of San Francisco.

    • (RV) "Read my eyes." The hawk has very sharp sight.

    • (B) Her special mentor...smiles. If I get out of my seat, go to the mirror and smile, will that make your dream precognitive? :-)

Hi Harry :)

I don’t think I had any better success this time than last; once again all I got was a series of unrelated images, not typical of my dreams at all, but scattered and incomplete and fleeting, very similar to my previous bizzarre RV attempt. :Þ

There were a couple of images that stood as somewhat different in quality from the others.

One was a very vivid image of a cast iron ring, hanging from a hook that was anchored to a wall. The wall also had decorative green/black iron works on it, a kind of ivy pattern or something.

A second image was extremely clear, a thin-faced man with a funny flat blue hat on, I think he was.. European? He was staring intently at something and was not distracted by my presence. Behind him was a full wall high wooden rack or shelves that were full of jars containing… I got the impression they were spices; various colored powders, some fine, some coarse.

The third image was.. like a very odd painting, but not. The surface was mainly a sage green-gray texture, and a raised image of horse and rider of the same colors.

At one point, I was aware of one theme being abruptly terminated and my focus was changed to another, and at a suddenly different awareness state, but there was only a very gray-foggy image there and I couldn’t make out any detail at all.

I think maybe I drive the process too hard, "searching for" instead of being "receptive to".

Waiting for the results, to see if ANY of the image fragments were relevant… :)

Frank / FreeLance

  1. Its my impression that in the arrangements of Harry’s RV challenges, one must be able to be “searching for” and be “receptive to” simultaneously. The individual can then stretch the psychic muscle by trial and error, and more experiments. Even though your entry may not seem as a direct hit, you have touched on some of the general elemental aspects that the sender was experiencing….metal, earth, wind.

Sleeping RV attempt:

The dream did not seem too significant, so I didn’t write it down. However, here is what I remember.

I was standing on a dock, the building behind the ship appears to be a Spanish style fort. A tall ship (looks like a pirate ship) pulls up to the dock and I board. While waiting for the ship to depart I see some guards in tee shirts, beige ones, trying to apprehend a prisoner. The prisoner is a Latino girl wearing a back brace or a large belt with rivets in it. The prisoner is walking back and forth defiantly in front of the line of guards. This stand off is actually taking place on the water, all participants are standing on the surface of the water. A bystander says to me, "They’ve already beat her down once, she wont give up."

Good job Sean. It appears that you have connected more with the sender and her actions, but still had a possible hit of the general environment. Hi Laura, Juhani and Diana,

I enjoyed selecting and sending the Red-Tailed Hawk Nest target. Hope you’ll have fun, too. Even though I didn’t see the hawk yesterday evening, I’ve seen it several times this week, so I only feel a teeny bit disappointed. :-)

I’ve divided up my comments between remote viewing (RV) and bonus points (B). If I thought a daytime perception or dream related to the target environment, but it had no photos to support it, I went out this morning and took them. I’ll do the same for any new correspondences. They are being uploaded to the “Submissions” page.

Here’s the target URL: http://members.aol.com/dreamartscience/remote/view.html

Sweet dreams, Linda

  1. Linda - I want to thank you for being such an amazing "sender" and doing such thorough work with the descriptions, sketches and photographs. Your efforts made my job much easier, I am especially thankful for the multisensory descriptions, what you saw, heard, touched, etc., because everyone has different senses they can connect psi with. Thank you. ---Laura A.

Hi. This is a dreaming RV, since it was something like 2:30 AM here in South Africa at the time.

View from the top of a hill where there is some trees growing in neat rows. Then I am with some people in a house. I am trying to play a computer game on a laptop, but the batteries of the laptop is running out of power. I ask the people how to save the game, and they show me.

Start walking down the hill with my friends’ family. My friend steps in something sharp and there is a hole in one of his toes.

At the bottom of the hill there is a hospital. It is late in the afternoon, and at the hospital there is a room where blood tests are done. The room is filthy. There are some people and someone there has two kids. Everthing is wet, and I suspect that a drainage bag carried by someone is leaking. The floors and the walls and the kids are wet. The room is very overcrowded, and the people are complaining about the poor service.

That’s it!

    • (B) When I went to take pictures this morning, the digital camera ran out of power, so I had to return home for new batteries. I was surprised the old batteries hadn't lasted. Then I realized I had left the camera plugged into the computer all night. I don't know if one thing has to do with the other, but I associated them in my mind. After uploading the photos, I was "saving" them as jpgs to the computer desktop. 1 bonus point for precognition.

  2. Laura’s Comments: Leon – thanks for joining the challenge from South Africa! To me, this represents that time and distance do not have a negative factor in participating in RV sessions. I would like to say that you picked up on many of the multisensory aspects (the sounds, the texture) as well as general terrain.

    Leon Linda
Start walking down the hill with my friends’ family Sierra Nevada Mountains would indicate a hilly terrain, (Did Linda directly mentioning walking down a hill?)
View from the top of the hill…trees. The overall environment of an area filled with tress. Perhaps the Hawk itself was hiding atop a tall tree, and giving a birds eye view to you, Leon!
My friend steps in something sharp Stepping on dried leaves and hearing crunch. Also tree bark. I imaging that the sensory feeling of touching eucalyptus bark would feel dry and sharp.
    Bottom of hill is hospital*
May not be a direct hit, but if you hadn’t titled it as a hospital, it would still qualify as a building.
References and photographs about the building.
Everything is wet. Symbolically speaking, a leaking drainage bag may represent a release or overflow of liquid / water. References to the River / Water / how the creek can, on occasion, become a raging river.

  4. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS from Linda:

    • (RV) Wet/drainage bag. The west end of the waterworks property is on a flood plain. The property has huge old water pipes on it.

    • (RV/B) View from top of hill/computer game/people in house. I used to be able to see the row of eucalyptus trees before a young oak tree obscured my view. This view is from the second floor room where my computer is located. When the below incident occurred, my husband was on the computer.

    • (B) Hole in toe. I was putting on my socks when I noticed the beginning of a hole...in the heel, though. I mentioned it to my husband.

    • (B) People complaining about poor service. After the waterworks property ignored my request to clean up their property, I went and complained to the fire department. See my comments under Christoph Gassmann's dream.

Another couple of bonus points for telepathy.

  5. Leon – 3 points (trees in a row, environment is wet )

    1. You definitely have picked up on trees and water (wet) from the scene that Linda describes

I wanted to add a bizarre experience of my own yesterday. The night before, I had been reading the submissions (those already posted) and had been focused in thought on the waterworks property. What does the water station do? The next morning I got to work (which is at a hospital) and was outside early overlooking the park watching the birds just as the sun was rising (there was fog and not a lot of light yet.) A couple of people walked by and were talking about a lake in the park. There is no lake in the park. They had been doing construction in other parts of town a few weeks ago and dumping tons of loose dirt into the park. It had been flattened out, but it hasn’t rained so it was still loose dirt. I focused my eyes on the ground in the park which was brown…and noticed it was moving in waves. It “was” water…really brown water from churned together with dirt (filthy looking). It covered most of the viewable area (where I was standing anyway.) I guess early in the morning, three water mains broke simultaneously in different neighborhoods of our little town (2 more burst on a hill to the East at the same time.) The utility said it was odd, and the only thing they can think is that there was a fire hydrant that was turned off too quickly somewhere that overwhelmed these 16 inch mains in the ground around town. Definitely odd. We had a lake for a day. Maybe they need a water station!

Hi Harry

I had 3 dreams last night, but the following was the most startling (and had some lucidity at the end). The two prior to this were in a snowy environment - one featured a friend’s old house and the other featured robots/machines and a tent.

(I’ve attached an appalling bad sketch of the scene outside Gypsy Cottage. The most striking feature of my dreams that night were houses I, or friends, had once lived in, the name Gypsy Cottage + a bedroom).

GYPSY COTTAGE (7.30am)

I was staying in a cottage owned by one or two "New Agey" women. There were other guests there. The women were selling the house and were moving out the day after.

The dream then switched to the day after and I was watching them moving out and the new people moving in. I was sitting in the lounge and saw that one of the ladies had a huge Bible just like mine, (one that I inherited on buying a house in the 1970’s - no longer live there). The gilt clasps looked very old and tarnished but the leather cover looked brand new. I was amazed. I commented that many people were given these Bibles as a wedding present in Victorian times (don’t know whether this is true). Then I was in a guest bedroom with two other people. I was sitting down and they were standing up by the bed. The house, it seems, was called Gypsy Cottage. I then remembered Harry Bosma’s experiment that I’m participating in, in reality, and realised I was now lucid. I repeated to myself over and over again, Gypsy Cottage, Gypsy Cottage so I wouldn’t forget. One of the people I was with was a young man (aged about 30-35) who was dressed in a very old-fashioned way (in a tweed suit) and had a bald head with a circle of hair round. He said "That’s it, you’ve got it." Meaning this was the target. It was very startlingly lucid.

I then seemed to be standing outside the house on a bridge going over a river. The scene had a resemblance to Burnbank Lodge (a close friend’s old house). Burnbank Lodge was a very atmospheric, stone-built, detached house - typically English - with two staircases. The house being surrounded by tall trees. (My friend left Burnbank Lodge around the same time as I left Wharmton Rise).

Do hope we have lots of hits. Although I suspect mine won’t be one of them - I think there’s a lot of personal stuff included here & I do seem to be better at conscious Remote Viewing.

Kind thoughts,

Jo :-)

    Laura’s Comments:

Bravo Joann. Amazing sketch, too. It appears that you have connected with the sender and had several strong direct hits on the environment.

    Joan Linda
Old friends house / Cottage A house / building structure
The women were selling the house and were moving out “At one time the water company offered to buy my neighbor's house, so they could tear it down and pave a street to the property.” This would indicate that the neighbor would have to sell and move.
    Sitting in the lounge.
Note: I am interpreting this as sitting in a lounge chair.
Linda mentions her folding chair three times, once that she is carrying it, once that she leaves it under a tree, and again when she has to move it to get a better view and sketch.
The house being surrounded by tall trees. See photo and sketch comparison. I would say strong hit!
Bridge and a river The Guadalupe River would qualify as a strong hit!
    Sketch
I am very impressed with the sketch on many levels. First Joann – It is not an appalling bad sketch! Look at how you connected the house, trees, river and bridge! Give yourself a pat on the back – your sketch is highly detailed for an RV session.

What can I say! I think you did wonderfully. At least 4 points for specific location! When I first read your dream I felt it was strongly connected and also tried to find something about the gypsy cottage. I’m very curious outside of the direct imagery what the occupants/elements of your dream were? Do the characters show up in other dreams?

    • (RV) Power...switching...pole. The waterworks property used to be a "switching station" or pumping station. See photos on "Submissions" page. http://members.aol.com/dreamartscience/remote/submissions.html
    • (B) A few days before the sending, I was watching the hawk sitting on a branch in a tree near the nest. I imagined myself as the hawk, peering out over the countryside, looking for supper. I imagined something running through the grass. Although I know that the hawks eat squirrels and moles, I was wondering if it ate rats. In fact, I even mentioned this to my son. 1 bonus point for telepathy, 1 point for retrocognition and 1 point for empathy (seeing from the hawk's point of view!).

  3. Laura’s Comments: Chris – Welcome to the wide world of Remote Viewing, and I am glad that you participated! From what you submitted, I can think that you have connected with the overall nature aspect. I encourage you to participate more because you are off to a strong start!

    Chris Linda
Rats or mice running around Squirrels and various other animals scurrying around. (No offense to the animal lovers in this group, but I think squirrels are rats with fluffy tails).
Keep very still if we wanted to see them (animals) Linda remained stationary to gain a solid view of the sky in hopes to see a hawk. I would think that she stayed very still while waiting to view the bird.
    Power Switch –
I am having a hard time imagining what a double pole isolate switch cable is. I first think of a light switch on a wall, but that doesn’t make sense with a double pole isolate switch cable? Is that like a telephone pole? Or the high metal ones that run major utility lines?
    ???
    Water company = utility

    Comment by Laura — Sat 6-Aug-2005 @ 2:47 pm

  4. Chris – 3 points (switching station-possibly waterworks property, rats)

    1. You had to keep very still to see them. Often when I’m birdwatching that is the main phrase that runs through my head. There’s a little bird here called a brown creeper that is sometimes (I’m told rarely) in the park across from where I work. At first glance you might feel you’ve perceived something moving, and then when you zero in, you see the whole tiny bird (same color as the bark) literally creeping up the side of the tree.

I’m finding the viewpoint of looking at the rats possibly from the hawk’s perspective most interesting, and how although many are picking up on the trees and water pumping station or water itself, how they might be looking at it from these different perspectives or possibly different times.

8.4.2005 Dream fragments:

I am at the boarding school. All is renovated and clean. A lot of ways outside and stairs, the big school building is on my left side. I was there together with an old school friend of mine, but I lost him somehow and waited for him near his car, a Mercedes.

Scene with a table, covered with a cloth and two thick candles on it. The candles where partly burned down, the wax was melted unevenly, one side of the candle was still there and had a pointed shape.

Candle

Somebody is departing for holidays and changed money. I saw a bundle of banknotes in a foreign currency. It was placed on a table and some notes fell over the edge of the table..

I am at a meeting of my old school class, we met in the old class room. There where several rows of desks. I entered the room as one of the last and sat down at a free school desk at the back of the room. The teacher stood in front of us and played a beautiful tune on an electric guitar.

Daytime impression:

I had an impression of a view over a large meadow. On the right side of my view was an edge of a forest, mostly coniferous trees. I had the impression that they were wet because of rain showers which fell before. Location: maybe England (because of the rain ha ha).

  1. SENDER'S COMMENTS/Hi from Linda:

    Christoph's Dream:
    • (RV) Boarding school. See my house on "Introduction" page. http://members.aol.com/dreamartscience/remote/introduction.html

    • (B) Candle. I have been in touch with Rita Dwyer via e-mail about the subject of "multi-sensory" dream telepathy targets, which is why I included the senses of touch and smell in my report. As I was thinking up some examples of such targets a couple of days ago, I flashed back to one of the only tactile targets I've ever used: a burning candle, about 3" in diameter. At least 2 bonus points: one for retrocognition and one for telepathy.

    • (RV) Meadow. I have posted a photo on the "Submissions" page of the undeveloped park that borders the waterworks property. http://members.aol.com/dreamartscience/remote/submissions.html

  2. Christoph: Great job too! You seem to have connected with the nature aspect of the overall environment and the building. I would like to think that you got closer than you anticipated with your sketch submission – please read on to understand what I am talking about.

    Christoph Linda
Big School to the left side. (as the same with Leon, if you hadn’t mentioned or titled it “school” it would still be identified as a building) The building to the left in the photograph.
Rows of desks (were the desks wooden by chance?) Rows of tall trees.
Beautiful tune on electric guitar Tunes of nature, birds chirping, the electric noise of the leaf blower.
Edge of forest with coniferous trees The many mentions of the trees. The sketch. The general environment.
Large meadow Photograph reference of various angles of environment, one looked very meadow-like.
Impression that they were wet. Reference to creek, water (wet).
    Submitted Candle Sketch:

Give me a moment to abstractly interpret your candle sketch. Please don’t think I am giving a critique of your sketching abilities, but I honestly did not see a candle image in your sketch. I tend to interpret sketches on a very abstract and geometric level, breaking down a sketch into the basic essential elements. I was confused by the triangular shape in the background. Then I realized..oh!….this is what the candle would look like if it melted unevenly. So when I first looked at the sketch alone – I saw just geometry.

So bear with me as I explain a little further -

First - let’s pretend you did not tell me that you sketch was of a candle.

I have added a little color to make a point. This may be a reach, however, didn’t see the image of a candle in your sketch.

It may be reaching with my interpretation -but I am trying to find reference Ed Kellogg’s paper presentation on explaining the transitional imagery…it has to do with a helicopter. I may need to email him to see if he still has this information available, and to better explain how I made the jump from a “candle” to an “RV Environment”

  4. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS from Linda:

•(B) Waited near his car. See resemblance to Sean's dream: "A tall ship (looks like a pirate ship) pulls up to the dock." I am a newbie to digital cameras, so I took some time to practice taking snapshots and uploading them to my computer. The very first shot was of my husband and his new car, a 1940 Plymouth.

•(RV) Boarding school/Teacher. I am a teacher, but I don't play electric guitar. However, in my dream lexicon, music = speech. I "spoke" via the comments I made on my (electronic) web site. You'll have to judge for yourself how melodious they are!

•(RV) Renovated and clean. The leaf blower was cleaning up a neighbor's front yard. I can't claim that either my house or the waterworks property are renovated and clean, but it does apply to the parks (meadow) property.

•(B) The parks property was becoming messy with trash and the waterworks property is cluttered with fallen eucalyptus debris. I e-mailed both entities. The parks people came out and cleaned up their space. The waterworks people sent out a crew to cut down the weeds but they ignored the huge fallen branch and mounds of dried leaves. If you've heard of the Oakland Hills Firestorm (dreams of it were written up in the ASD Newsleter), you'll know that the prime reason for the heat and intensity of the fire was the dry eucalyptus trees. Thus, I consider the waterworks property to be a fire hazard until it's cleaned up. Shape of candle and its aura = trees on fire. Another bonus point for telepathy.

    • Laura, I created the target that Ed's lucid dreaming mind turned into a helicopter. His explanation is posted at http://www.asdreams.org/telepathy/contest2001/kellogg.htm. But I think you did a great job describing that, while the primary process/psi mind isn't so proficient with precise labels of an object, it does resonate well with general outlines and themes. (I like to think of psi perception as trying to look through squinted eyes with my glasses off.) In this case, pictures say it better than words!

    Specific Location
    1. The candle reminds me of the photo of the nest in the trees, the nest being the flame.
The hit on meadow with trees in the distance and water (wet) is pretty amazing to me and (visually close to the environment Linda describes from your photos!) Many of the respondents have picked up on the trees and water, or water station.
